How to Recognize and Award Points Follow
This article was built as a guide for system administrators. If you are not a system administrator and are looking for instructions on submitting a recognition in your organization's recognition platform, look in our User Guides or contact the Awardco support team for individual assistance.
Depending on your system's configuration, your recognition experience may differ from the examples in this article, but will follow the same basic workflow that is shown below. As an administrator, you also have access to an additional recognition interface called Bulk Recognition. This recognition type is covered extensively in the Admin Queues and Bulk Recognition article.
Submitting a Recognition
Begin by logging into your account and from the homepage, select the Recognize tab to be redirected to your organization's recognition submission page. Be aware that the Recognize tab can be renamed to better match your organization's brand. If you're having trouble finding your recognize tab, try chatting with the Awardco support team by clicking the chat widget in the bottom right corner of the screen. Once you have located the recognize tab, the recognition options available to you will depend on how your platform is configured.
Recognition via Multiple Programs
The recognition programs feature allows your organization to run multiple recognition programs on the same platform. The settings, including eligibility, for your different programs were configured in implementation or with your Client Success Manager. For questions on this program type, reach out to your current Awardco point of contact. You may also refer to the Recognition Program Sampler article to see examples of this feature's utilization.
To begin, search for the employee you would like to award. You are able to select more than one individual on this page but keep in mind that when you choose more than one person, only programs for which both users are eligible will be displayed. If multiple users are selected, the recognition sent will be sent to both individuals. If you would like to send individual messages or amounts, please process the recognitions one at a time.
As part of the multiple recognition programs feature, if you and the recipient are eligible to participate in multiple programs, you will be asked to select the program the award will be processed in. This page could include anywhere from two to dozens of programs. Using the example below, Dan will need to choose between the non-monetary High Five program and the monetary Sales Incentive Program. Use the program description and in-platform program FAQ features to keep employees up to date on the purpose of each program type.
Please note, if you do not see this page after you select the recipient, and you are brought straight to the recognition form, this means the submitter, recipient, or both parties were only eligible for a single program.
After you have selected the program, complete the recognition form. This form is highly customizable and may contain multiple choice answers, accompanying images, short response text boxes, platform tags, monetary amounts, and more. Using the example below, Dan will provide a reason for recognition, attach a value tag, select an award amount, confirm if the recognition will be visible to everyone or only the recipient, and click "Recognize." Once you submit the recognition, the submission will be either processed immediately or pulled into an approval queue, depending on your platform configuration.
Recognition Classic
The Recognize Classic feature has all fields displayed on the same page in a single form. To begin, in the User box, type in the name of the person you want to reward. A dropdown menu will appear with users that match your search. Select the name of the user you would like to award from the displayed search results. If you select multiple users, they will all receive the same recognition.
Once you've designated the recipient, you can type in a reason for the recognition, and add hashtags of core values that will also show up on your social feed. If you have access to a budget, you will see a Budget option from which you will be able to choose the budget the award value will pull from. After selecting the budget, enter the amount you would like to award.
If you do not see a budget or amount field, this means you have not been given access to a monetary award program and the recognition you submit will be processed as a social recognition with no funds attached. Before you submit the award, remember to check the Public/Private dropdown menu. If the award is set to Public, the award will be shown in your organization's social feed to all members of your organization. If you select Private, the award will only be visible to you and the recipient. Keep in mind, Private recognitions are visible to managers and administrators in platform reporting.
Nominate
If you have access to the nominate tab, you will be able to submit an award for another member of your organization and recommend a dollar amount that should be given to them for the recognition. Awards submitted through the nominate tab will be subject to an approvals process. Submitting the recognition is much the same as submitting the Recognition Classic form above.
Search for the user you would like to award, select the recipient from the menu, enter the reason for recognition, submit a tag, and if available, enter the dollar amount you would like to recommend.
