Displaying the Social Feed on a TV Follow
An excellent way to promote recognition throughout your organization would be to display Awardco’s social feed on a TV, or other displays, in a public area. While we don’t offer an out-of-the-box solution for this, the following instructions offer suggestions that will point you in the right direction.
- Obtain your Awardco API key from your Implementation Consultant or Client Success Manager.
- This process will require the services of an internal web design/development resource. Involve them early in this project and in any calls with the Awardco team discussing this social feed.
- To build this tool, your development resource will query platform recognition data by utilizing Awardco’s open API and pulling the Recognition Details report. Directions for this process can be found at api.awardco.com/api/reports. You’ll need your unique API key to pull this data. This report will be generated in a .CSV format.
- After pulling recognition data, your web designer/developer will take the formatted data and using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will build a webpage that displays the feed according to your preferences. You will be able to design the appearance of the site, the display settings, rotation speed, etc. with your development resource. These display settings will be completely controlled by your internal developer.
- After the webpage is created, you’ll need to work with local HR leaders to have your feed displayed on TV or other displays around the organization. The TV/display will need to be able to access the internet and display a webpage. If your displays do not already have this ability, work with your IT team to identify the preferred hardware solution for this feed. A Google Chromecast or a Mac Mini may be a cheap, easy-to-implement option for you.
